Seaside in Sydney: Our Coogee Beach AirBnb

The Airbnb we chose for our two-week stay in Sydney was located mid-way between Coogee Beach and Randwick, situated high up on a hill with good views out over Coogee Beach, especially from the house’s front balcony.
This location provided good access to the city via the Randwick tram station and various bus routes, which meant we could be in the city centre within about half an hour of walking out our front door.
The Airbnb itself was fabulously well-equipped by the host, with all manner of utensils for cooking available for use in the kitchen. It also had space to sleep 5 persons (2 bedrooms plus an extra bed situated in a “cave” area at the back of the house, which also included a small play area for the kids). Our kids got such a kick out of “the cave” and spent many hours back there playing with the toys the host had set up in there for visitors.
While a bit small, there was just enough room for the four of us plus Grandpa WorldSmith, who flew out to visit us from Canada, to stay very comfortably.
While there were some very minor issues with the Airbnb, such as it having no air conditioning (not a major deal on the ground floor unless cooking on a hot day) and having not great ventilation in the bedrooms (we just left the doors open), the host was great, the place was well-equipped, and the cost was much better than comparative alternatives.
Overall, we would highly recommend this accommodation and Coogee Beach in particular as a pleasant, budget-friendly place to stay while exploring Sydney.
